Browser Menu Options

File Menu

  • New Window: opens a new browser window.
    • Blank: opens a blank new browser window.
    • Current: opens a new browser window displaying the content of the window you are currently viewing.
    • Home: opens a new browser window displaying your specified home page.
    • Clipboard: opens a new window displaying search results from your preferred search engine, using the text that you have most recently cut or copied.

  • Open: opens local files or web pages in a browser window.
  • Close: closes the active browser windows.
  • Close All: closes all open browser windows.
  • Save As: saves content in active browser window.
  • Save HTML: saves the current page as an HTML file with a separate folder for any images.
  • Page Setup: setup the active browser window for printing.
  • Print: prints the active browser window.
  • Print Preview: previews how the active browser window will be printed.
  • Send:
    • This page by email: opens a new email message displaying the web page you are currently viewing in it's original structure, using your default email client.
    • This link by email: opens a new email message containing the URL of the web page you are currently viewing, using your default email client.
    • All links by email: opens a new email message containing the URL's of all the web pages you have open on your tabs bar.

  • Import and Export: guides you through the steps to import or export favorites and/or cookies.
  • Properties: displays the properties of the active browser window.
  • Work Offline: terminates your connection to the internet keeping the web site you are viewing available whilst offline (best utilized on a dial up internet connection).
  • Hide: keeps Deepnet Explorer running in the background although appears to be closed (to 'unhide' start Deepnet Explorer in the usual way, your session will be saved).
  • Exit: closes Deepnet Explorer.

Top

Edit menu

  • Undo Close: reopens the last closed page.
  • Cut: copies the selection in the active browser window to the clipboard and removes the selection.
  • Copy: copies the selection in the active browser window to the clipboard.
  • Paste: inserts copied items from the clipboard into the selected location of the active browser window.
  • Select All: select all items in the active browser window.
  • Find: searches text in the active browser window.

Top

View menu

  • Toolbars
    • Standard Toolbar: shows or hides standard buttons.
    • Applications: shows or hides the application buttons (Web/P2P/News) on the toolbar.
    • Links: shows or hides the links bar.
    • Favorites: displays your website favorites on the toolbar.
    • Start Pages: displays your start pages on the toolbar.
    • Address Bar: shows or hides the address bar.
    • Utilities: shows or hides the windows control bar.
    • External Tools: shows or hides the external tools bar.
    • Lock Toolbars: locks all toolbars in their current position. When selected deselecting reverses this.
    • Customize: used to customize the buttons shown on the standard toolbar. For more on this feature click here.

  • Status Bar: shows or hides the status bar.
  • Explorer bar
    • History: shows or hides your browsing history in the explorer window.
    • Favorites: shows or hides your favorites in the explorer window.

  • Tabs and Panel:
    • Windows Tabs: shows or hides the tabs bar.
    • Control Panel: shows or hides the application control panel (Web/P2P/News).
    • Customize: opens the 'Customize' options window. For more on this feature click here.

  • Group:
    • New Group: organizes the web pages you are currently viewing into a 'master tab'.
    • Delete Group: closes the group and the web sites contained within.
    • Rename Group: allows you to change the name of the group, i.e. from 'work' to 'personal'.
    • View Groups: allows you to view the group hierarchy in a 'favorites' style window.

  • Go to:
    • Back: navigates back to the previous web page you were viewing.
    • Forward: navigates forward to a page you previously visited.
    • Home: navigates to your specified home page.

  • Stop: stops the active browser window from loading.
  • Refresh: refreshes the page in the active browser window.
  • Zoom Page:
    • 50%: reduces the page content to half it's original size.
    • 100%: magnifies the page content to twice it's original size.
    • 150%: magnifies the page content to three times it's original size.
    • 200%: magnifies the page content to four times it's original size.
    • +20%: magnifies the page content by one fifth of it's original size.
    • -20%: reduces the page content by one fifth of it's original size.

  • Text Size: specifies the relative size of the text displayed in the browser window.
    • Largest: displays text in the largest size.
    • Large: displays text in a large size.
    • Medium: displays text in a medium size.
    • Small: displays text in a small size.
    • Smallest: displays text in the smallest size.

  • Encoding: specifies the character set to use for the active browser window.
  • Source: displays the source (HTML code) for the active browser window.
  • Full Screen: removes toolbars, menus & taskbars from view so more of the web page can be viewed on the screen. Move cursor to the top of the screen for toolbars and menus to appear.
  • Language: specify which language you would like Deepnet Explorer to use.
  • Web: displays the web browser for viewing websites.
  • News: shows the News browser screen.
  • P2P: displays the P2P browser for file sharing.

Favorites menu

  • Add to favorites: adds current page to the favorites folder you select.
  • Organize favorites: opens a file manager so you can organize your favorites.
  • Add Start Pages: opens the current page whenever you start up Deepnet Explorer.
  • Add Link Here: adds current page to favorites folder you have selected.
  • Open All Links: opens all favorites links in the list below.
  • Open Links with Group: opens all links in a new group that are situated in the root favorites folder.

Top

Tools menu

  • Customize: used to customize the buttons shown on the tabs and sidebar.
  • Internet Options: displays Internet options including home page settings, cookie storage, security settings, and your default browser settings.
  • Web Browser Options: displays options for controlling layout of your browser windows, including the search preferences, pop blocker settings and content filtering.
  • Auto Login
    • Fill Details: fill login details in the active browser.
    • Record Details: record login details from the active browser.
    • Manage Details: display the Auto Login Manager.
    • Database Tools: database tool allowing you to import a file containing your Auto Login details.

  • Form Filler
    • Fill Details: fills a web form in the active browser with details stored in the form manager.
    • Record Details: records details into the form manager.
    • Manage Details: display the Form Manager.

  • Phishing Alarm:
    • Customize: allows you to adjust the Phishing Alarm settings as well as add web sites to a black and/or white list.
    • Enable Phishing Alarm: tick to enable the Phishing Alarm, un-tick to disable the Phishing Alarm.
    • Update Database: connects Deepnet Explorer to the Deepnet Technologies server to check for and download updates to the AntiPhishing database.
    • Report Phishing Site: opens up a web form in a new tab where you can report a phishing scam via 'PhishSpot'.

  • Adverts Killer:
    • Customize: allows you to adjust the settings as well as add web sites to a white list.
    • Enable Popup Killer: tick to enable the Adverts Killer, un-tick to disable the Adverts Killer.
    • Enable Floating Killer: tick to enable the Floating Killer, un-tick to disable the Floating Killer.

  • Content Filter:
    • Customize: allows you to adjust the settings as well as add web sites to black and/or white list.
    • Enable Content Filter: tick to enable the Content Filter, un-tick to disable the Content Filter.
    • Allow Images: check/uncheck to view/disable the view of images in Deepnet Explorer for the current page you are viewing.
    • Allow Videos: check/uncheck to view/disable the view of video in Deepnet Explorer for the current page you are viewing.
    • Allow Sounds: check/uncheck to allow/disable the playing of sounds in Deepnet Explorer for the current page you are viewing.
    • Allow ActiveX: check/uncheck to enable/disable the display of ActiveX in Deepnet Explorer for the current page you are viewing.
    • Allow Scripts: check/uncheck to enable/disable the execution of Scripts in Deepnet Explorer for the current page you are viewing.
    • Allow Java Applet: check/uncheck to enable/disable the execution of Java Applets in Deepnet Explorer for the current page you are viewing.
    • Allow ActiveX Execution: check/uncheck to enable/disable the execution of ActiveX in Deepnet Explorer for the current page you are viewing.

  • Cookie Manager:
    • View Cookies: allows you to view and control both stored and live cookies.
    • Customize: allows you to adjust the cookie manager settings as well as add web sites to a black and/or white list.
    • Enable Cookie Filter: tick to enable the Cookie Filter, un-tick to disable the Cookie Filter.

  • Proxy Manager:
    • Customize: allows you to adjust the Proxy Manager.
    • Enable Proxy: tick to enable proxy, un-tick to disable proxy.

  • Clean Up:
    • Clear Deepnet Explorer History: deletes the web sites you have visited that are stored on your computer.
    • Clear System History: deletes the history of your system usage such as files recently opened.
    • Clear Cookies: deletes all the cookies stored on your computer.
    • Clear Auto Complete: deletes the history of text typed in to places on the net such as web forms and the address bar.
    • Clear Temporary Internet Files: deletes the temporary internet files from your computer.
    • Clear Website Icons: removes the web site icons that are stored in the favorites folder (irreversible).

  • External Applications: manager for application shortcuts.
    • Application Manager: allows you to add application shortcuts to the toolbar of Deepnet Explorer. For more on this feature click here.

  • Components Manager: used to enable/disable components of Deepnet Explorer. For more on this feature click here.

Top

Window menu

  • Cascade: reduces all current windows to a smaller size so that you can move the window around the designated area.
  • Tile Vertical: resizes all current windows to an equal size so they display vertically in the designated area.
  • Tile Horizontal: resizes all current windows to an equal size so they display horizontally in the designated area.
  • Close All: closes all opened browser windows..
  • Windows: opens the window control screen.

  • Content and Index: opens the Deepnet Explorer help guide.
  • Online Support: opens the Deepnet Explorer support page.
  • Diagnosis Report: opens a new email message addressed to Deepnet Explorer support in your default email client, enabling you to contact us with any queries you have and also attaching information of the version of Deepnet Explorer you are running along with system and process information. You are able to remove this attachment, however it aids our diagnosis of any problems you maybe having.
  • About Deepnet Explorer: displays information about your current version of Deepnet Explorer.
